Rachel Peña was born and raised in San Antonio. She has been singing since the age of five, and began playing trumpet when she was eleven. Her highly acclaimed vocal and instrumental talents have landed her the starring role in many theatre productions such as The Music Man, The Wizard of Oz, and Ahmal. She has also been the recipient of many prestigious awards including “Outstanding Jazz Vocalist” in the Texas State Jazz Festival, “Outstanding Soloist” in the North Texas Jazz Festival, and “Outstanding Vocalist” in the Temple College Jazz Festival. Currently, she attends The University of Texas at San Antonio as a vocal Music Education Major. Rachel plans on using her talents and success to teach and inspire the youth.
